Introducing … the first Ally Snapshot posts!

21 Nov

Ta-dahh! Please meet (from left to right, above) Stephanie, Laura, Ariel, Kaleena, Isabelle, Pema, Lindsay, Adrian, Alessondra, Liz, Erin, Dara and Philip — a baker’s dozen of bloggers from the 21 communities where Public Allies is at work. To get things started, they are putting things into a little perspective. Their introductory posts will explain how they’ve come to the service work they are doing right now, or where they hope that work will lead them in the future.

After you’ve met the Ally Snapshot bloggers, please come back to share their experiences as they set out to do really cool things in their communities — things like developing a book club for teen parents, launching a one-on-one tutoring program for disadvantaged kids, helping people own their own homes, or teaching community service to high school drop-outs who now want to get their diplomas.

You’ll also find out about their leadership journeys. Public Allies is, after all, an organization that believes everyone can be a leader, and that the real solutions to the problems facing our communities can be found in giving more people the opportunity to step up and lead. People just like  Stephanie, Laura, Ariel, Kaleena, Isabelle, Pema, Lindsay, Adrian, Alessondra, Liz, Erin, Dara and Philip.

We think you’ll be inspired by what they have to say!
